Senior Business Development Executive (Malay-speaker)
Proactive Business Development Executive driving SBS Group’s premium platforms. Builds partnerships, promotes ShangHai initiatives, and empowers Malay business communities nationwide.
Position Overview
The Business Development Executive plays a pivotal role in driving the expansion of SBS Group’s initiatives, with a focus on promoting premium branding platforms, including Talk of Fame (New Series), Book of Fame, ShipBa Award, and SHE Award. This role involves building trust and partnerships with Malay business associations, chambers, forums, expos, government bodies, and entrepreneurial summits. The ideal candidate is proactive, culturally aware, and passionate about empowering local business communities through strategic relationship-building and brand promotion.
Key Responsibilities
Market Development & Engagement
• Build strategic partnerships with Malay business associations, cooperatives, chambers, NGOs, and government-linked agencies.
• Attend and represent SBS Group/ShangHai at entrepreneur forums, expos, summits, and government-hosted events.
• Identify and develop a pipeline of potential Malay business owners to participate in ShangHai initiatives.
Brand Promotion & Sales
• Introduce and present ShangHai’s signature platforms to potential participants and partners.
• Customize pitches to align with the values and aspirations of the Malay entrepreneurial segment.
• Drive participation and conversion into Talk of Fame, Book of Fame, ShipBa Award, and SHE Award campaigns.
Relationship Management
• Develop long-term trust with key stakeholders across Malay-speaking communities.
• Maintain regular follow-ups to nurture engagement and encourage referrals.
• Act as a brand ambassador, upholding Shanghai’s image of prestige, empowerment, and honor.
Strategic Collaboration
• Initiate collaborative campaigns with associations or government departments to promote entrepreneurship recognition.
• Propose joint events, co-branded sessions, or award nomination drives targeted to Malay business circles.
Reporting & Planning
• Provide regular reports on outreach progress, leads, and conversion rates.
• Propose outreach strategies, partnership opportunities, and improvement plans.
Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in business development, event marketing, or community outreach.
• Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English, with strong public speaking and corporate presentation skills.
• Established network or prior engagement with Malay associations, cooperatives, or ministries.
• Passionate about entrepreneurship, business empowerment, and cultural inclusion.
• Willing to travel nationwide to attend events, expos, and meetings.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated, and target-driven.
